LUNCH

The meeting point is Rossio Square (Praça Dom Pedro IV), where your guide will welcome you at the scheduled tour time.

From the very beginning, you'll discover that this is much more than a walking tour. Combining history, gastronomy, local traditions, breathtaking viewpoints and authentic experiences, this all-inclusive journey has been carefully designed to help you experience Lisbon like a local.

Upon arrival, you'll receive a welcome gift, including a Lisbon tote bag and a handmade Portuguese ceramic tile souvenir to remember your day.

Rossio Square

One of Lisbon's most iconic squares and the city's traditional meeting place for centuries.

Here, we'll introduce ourselves, provide a brief overview of the experience ahead, explore the fascinating history of Rossio Square, and take some memorable group photographs before beginning our journey through the city.

Next, we'll visit A Ginjinha and São Domingos Church

A short walk brings us to one of Lisbon's most traditional institutions.

You'll discover the story behind Ginjinha, Portugal's famous cherry liqueur, and enjoy a tasting while learning how this small drink became one of Lisbon's most beloved traditions.

Just across the street, we'll explore São Domingos Church, one of Lisbon's most remarkable churches, whose dramatic history reflects some of the city's most important moments.

We then continue to Manteigaria Silva

One of Lisbon's oldest gourmet food shops.

Here you'll discover the richness of Portuguese gastronomy while enjoying a carefully selected tasting of Portuguese cheeses, cured meats, wines, and Port wine.

You'll also learn about Portugal's different wine regions, traditional products, and why Portuguese cuisine is so closely connected to its history and geography.

From Rossio, we'll stroll down the vibrant pedestrian street of Rua Augusta, passing beautiful historic buildings, lively cafés, and local shops.

We'll stop at Martinho da Arcada, Lisbon's oldest café, where famous Portuguese writer Fernando Pessoa was a regular customer, before arriving at the magnificent Praça do Comércio.

Here you'll discover how the devastating 1755 Lisbon Earthquake, tsunami, and subsequent reconstruction completely transformed the city and helped shape modern urban planning around the world.

We'll then ascend to the top of the iconic Rua Augusta Arch, with your entrance ticket included. From this spectacular viewpoint, you'll enjoy panoramic views over Baixa, Rossio, Alfama, the Tagus River, and Lisbon's famous red rooftops—one of the city's most impressive photo opportunities.

Leaving Praça do Comércio behind, we'll follow Lisbon's beautiful riverside while exploring Portugal's extraordinary maritime history and the Age of Discoveries.

We'll then enter Alfama, Lisbon's oldest neighbourhood, where narrow medieval streets, colourful houses, hidden squares and centuries-old traditions reveal the city's authentic character.

Along the way, you'll hear fascinating stories about Lisbon's past, local customs, and everyday life that most visitors never discover.

Traditional Portuguese Lunch

Our experience concludes with a relaxed and authentic Portuguese lunch at Barracão de Alfama.

You'll enjoy a selection of traditional Portuguese dishes accompanied by Portuguese wine, while taking time to relax, ask questions, and experience Lisbon's warm hospitality in one of its most historic neighbourhoods.

Before saying goodbye, we'll be happy to share personalised recommendations for the rest of your stay, ensuring you continue exploring Lisbon like a local.

For those wishing to continue independently, we highly recommend a short walk to the beautiful Miradouro de Santa Luzia, one of Lisbon's most iconic viewpoints.
